19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden title since the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt since March of that year.
Victory also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is really nice," stated ranked player the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.
His retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led some to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better serving game.
The champion fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour title, took control to force a final set.
The opponent rescued 4 initial chances in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, he clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
